The Government of Nepal had planned for an ambitious program for 2020, which was called Visit Nepal 2020. The main objective of the program was to promote the wide range of tourism destinations and activities available in Nepal. However, the COVID situation had all the plans and expectations all in vain. The country’s tourism industry was totally dismantled and hundreds of thousands of people dependent on this industry were suddenly unemployed.  As the world went into shutdown mode, so did the country and the people.
